2015 - Futuristic books
Considering how much I love SFF, I've surprisingly not read that many books set in the future. Most of the ones I read are set in the past.
1. Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers
The representation in this series is wonderful, but if you are looking for a series that is going to utterly break your heart and fill you with hope at the same time, this is it.
2. The Expanse series by James SA Corey
Another series which is going to destroy you while also filling you with hope.
3. The Mummy! Tales of the Twenty Second Century by Jane Loudon
I talk about this book a lot, but I do truly love it.
4. The Sixth World series by Rebecca Roanhorse
The world has been destroyed, and the old gods are having fun with that. Brilliantly written, I'm excited for more in this series.
5. The Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells
I didn't know it was possible to love a bot who calls itself Murderbot this much.
2017 - Current favourites that aren't books
I have quite a few things I've been enjoying recently.
1. Colourpop Face Milks
These are just gentle moisturisers that I really enjoy using. I've completely finished a small bottle of one in Papaya, which is truly impressive for me, since it takes me months usually to finish skincare. This took me a month and I've been using it twice a day.
2. The Good Place
I always recommend that you go into watching this show knowing as little about it as possible.
3. Star Trek The Next Generation
Until late last year, I had never watched any Star Trek/Wars but that is slowly changing. I love Riker.
4. Stylecraft Batik Swirl yarn
This is a gradient yarn that has variation in each solid colour, and it is gorgeous for blankets and shawls.
5. Peanut butter on toast
I'm eating it right now. I'm really enjoying it.
