Let's start with something you might find boring, but I want to share anyway just because I'm so happy about it all. If you have no interest in what I wore or in my make up choices, just skip to the "Read More" section.
I'm not usually a fan of dresses and skirts that go above the knee, but I love this dress and I wore it on Sunday. I got it with the top in plain black, and I just cannot praise this dress enough! The fabric is gorgeous - it drapes so beautifully, but doesn't crease. Even though I had the sashes tied quite tightly, I didn't find a single crease. It does billow out a little, which leads to a few Marilyn Monroe moments, but it is such a flattering dress. I want a lot more of them! I had the sashes going straight over my shoulders in the V neck plunge style, then crossed the sashes to wrap them around my waist; I tied them in a knot at my back. However, because of the crutches, I have to wear long sleeves; my arms can bruise from the cuffs so I like to have a layer of fabric between me and them. I wore this and it is so pretty. It is a little darker than shown on the site, but it is beautiful. Obviously, it was cold on Sunday so I wore a gorgeous military style coat from Spitalfields Market, but I haven't been able to find it online so I can't get you a link for it. I also wore my every day shoes and the best tights I have ever found.
Make up is pretty important to me, so I'm going to have to have a paragraph for that as well. Sorry. Foundation is not my forte, but I love the Jackie Oates foundation from Lush. I am very pale and have always struggled to find a foundation that suits me, but this one is gorgeous. It is not drying, it gives great coverage, and blends into my skin tone with ease. Staying with Lush, I wore this lip tint which was a limited edition item last Valentines. It is no longer available and my own tin expires next week. I love the colour, and I will genuinely miss it. Over that, I used a little lipstick for colour and shine. It might look a little costly, but it really is worth it! For blusher, I used Estee Lauder Lilac Rose blush, which I have not been able to find online, so I think it might have been discontinued. I love pencils, and on the waterline I used this one in Onyx; it lasts ages and goes on easily. I used this eye shadow in Charcoal; in all honesty, I'm not a fan of it, and I regret paying so much for it. It goes on very pale, and fades in less than an hour, but to give it credit it does work well on the lower lid to act as an extra liner below the lash line. On top of that I used this in black to create wings. I love liquid liner, and made the transition from liquid to gel a few months ago. It is very easy to use, and glides on. It really does last a long time, even with a lot of scrubbing with make up remover.
