I'll only be talking about things I have finished, so if you want to ask "Hey Ellana, what about-" I've not finished it.
Books
- The Case of the Hidden Daemon by Lucy Banks. Excellent book, and you can read my review here if you so wish.
- The Cambridge Ancient History, Volume 1 Part 1 by IES Edwards et al.. Fascinating but full of technical terms I had to look up, but a very useful resource for things that predate what I'm studying.
- The Cambridge Ancient History, Volume 1 Part 2 by IES Edwards et al.. As above, if I'm honest. I did enjoy reading these books, and I'm continuing them, but it does get quite technical at times.
- Queers Destroy Science Fiction by Seanan McGuire et al.. This audiobook I started forever ago, and I've been reading it at odd moments. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Every short story had either an LGBTQ+ character or relationship at the forefront of the plot, or just as a side piece to the main plot. Brilliant.
- Archaeology and the Senses by Yannis Hamilakis. An interesting take on archaeology and how we tend to be very far removed from the original use of an item. If you are interested in archaeology and history, I'd recommend this.
- The Cambridge Ancient History, Volume 2 Part 1 by IES Edwards et al.. Pretty much as the first volume, but this started to get into things like the Heroic Age of Greek history, and I loved that section.
- Dreaming the Eagle by Manda Scott. A lovely fiction book about the story of Boudica before she became Boudica. If you're looking for something more factual, this is not going to be it. I loved the story, and I'd happily continue the series.
- Disenchantment. Amazing, and wished it had been longer.
- Final Space. This started off a bit plain, but I did quite enjoy it by the end.
- You can read my review for the ring splints I bought from Sienna Hope Jewellery here, and she even shared my post!
- I'm going to include it here because I'm not sure where else to do so. I got Overdrive and Libby, since I joined a library that uses them. I've already started reading one book from Overdrive and I have my eye on an audiobook on Libby.
Books
- Pharaoh by Wilbur Smith. I've already started this book this morning, and it is my first Overdrive book. Thankfully I can read it on my Kobo ereader, rather than my phone, so I can read late at night and early in the morning.
- Malice by John Gwynne, This is for #TFATFRA (The Faithful and the Fallen read along) hosted by Frankie Reads. I've not read any of the books in the series before, but I trust Frankie's judgement, so I'm excited to take part.
- Cambridge Ancient History. Ultimately my plan is to read them all, but I'm not sure how far I'll get this month.
- Circe by Madeline Miller. This is the audiobook I plan to read via Libby. I have a crochet project that requires me to pay attention to what I'm doing but without counting, so this is a perfect combination.
Just the one here - The Good Place. I adore that show, and I'm so excited to see it return!
That's my plan at least, but things will change I am sure. I tend to not look at what I need to read for university ahead of time, I just take it week by week, so expect to see even more nonfiction books on my next wrap up.
That's my months, tell me about yours.
