World of Wool: Day Two
This blend is called Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. It's a gorgeous blend of white merino, red eri silk, and stellina. Eri silk is often known as peace silk, as it is collected rather than cultivated; this means the moth doesn't die in the creation of the silk. I've never spun eri silk, so this is rather exciting. It's 50g of the blend, so not enough for a shawl, but it is delightful.

The gradient from Fellview Fibres had to be mine, considering my degrees. I just had to spin it. This was another Tour de Fleece project, but it was one I struggled with when plying. The spinning went smoothly, but to maintain the gradient in the plying process, I had to sacrifice a lot of yarn. I managed to split the batts unevenly, meaning I had a significant difference in how much yardage I had spun. It was a challenge, it was a little sad to have so much spinning wasted, but I'm happier with the final yarn than if it had been mismatched. I adore gradients, and losing that would've been worse.
So that's it for today!
