World of Wool: Day Four
This blend is called Lapland, and it's a mix of Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, and Scandinavian mountain wool. I adore this blend. It's all undyed so it's the natural colors of the wool, but it has a gorgeous mix of greys and whites. This needs to be a shawl once they start selling these blends next year.
BFL and Camel Gradient
I'm a little in love with Hilltop Cloud, and I love gradients, so this was a perfect project. The gradient was from a gorgeous magenta to almost undyed light brown, and it was a delight to spin. I had 200g, so the first braid I spun across the top; this means I started at one end and worked my way down the braid to the other end. For the second braid, I broke it into sections so I had four small braids following the same gradient. When I plied them together, I had a fractal spin. This was my first ever fractal, and I need to spin more. It has a beautiful gradient that just slightly changes as it goes along the yarn, as one ply goes darker then lighter again, while the other ply maintains the original magenta to undyed. I need to spin more fractal yarns.
What's your project for today?
