I think we should start with a little bit of background first, just to keep you waiting a little bit longer.
In August, I told a select few friends that I would be publishing a novel. I had the character in my head that would be the narrator, but in all honesty I had no plot. No jokes about me losing the plot or not having one to start with please, I have come up with them all myself.
In September, I had a Skype call with Liz, who you should all know by now as my lovely assistant. We had our mothers in the call as well, and between the four of us, we came up with a series of scenes and ideas that I would then turn into parts and chapters.
That night I started writing the Prologue. For NaNoWriMo, I was writing the rest of the novel. At this exact moment in time, I have not finished it, but I'm doing well! I have time.
I'm not really selling this well... Let me start again.
Robert Weaver is a presidential candidate, and during one of his speeches, he is shot. He survives, but he slowly loses everything, including his sanity.
I will be releasing a brand new chapter, of at least one thousand words, every Sunday at 6pm from the start of December. I will be having two weeks off in December, because I desperately need to focus on my university work as well as writing and editing the next chapters.
Here's how it will work.
Every Sunday at 6pm GMT/BST I will update SOB to include the new chapter, and I will let you know I have by posting about it on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Google+ {click on each site name for the link to my page}. SOB is not just set out into chapters. Each month is also a new part. December is the Prologue, and then January 2014 begins the action. At the end of each part/month, I will send out an email an hour early; I will release the final chapter each month at 5pm instead of 6pm, so if you get email updates you will be able to get the next chapter earlier than anyone else.
You can drop in at any time along the story, because I will not be deleting the chapters - I will just be adding. If you want to update once a month instead of weekly you can do that too. It is so flexible, make it work for you. You can get SOB in three formats - PDF, ePUB, and Mobi - so you can have it on any device with a PDF reader, and any eReader. For Kindles, you will need to use the "email to Kindle" option. The observant amongst you will notice that there is already a chapter published... There is. It is the opening chapter, but in its pure, unedited form. You can get it unofficially if you must, but just keep it to yourself!
You can even gift SOB so any of those last minute Christmas gifts are sorted - you just need the person's email address. Of course, SOB is absolutely free, but if you wish to pay all royalties will be going to charity. They will never need to know how much/little you paid, and they will get all of the updates for free. It is the gift that keeps on giving... and will never end up in a dump. Yay!
I am so excited about the release of Senate of Blood and from responses from some of you, you are just as excited as I am.
When you get it, let me know - I will check the #WhoIsRobertWeaver tag on Twitter and Tumblr, and I always read comments, wall posts, and messages that get sent to my Facebook page. I'm still learning how to use Google+ so you know, be gentle. I will then personally thank every single one of you that tells me you got it.
SOB will have its last chapter released in April 2015. This seems like a lifetime away, but hopefully you will stick with it. I really am excited about this!
See you next week!
