Skin Problems
I have issues with my skin. It can get dry, and I'm prone to eczema; eczema means pain, and extra pain is bad. I also struggle opening bottles and jars, so I like to get around that if I can.
1. Massage Bars
Lush has a fabulous range of massage bars. They are brilliant for the skin, but more than that, they are solid. This means no evil bottles with awkward lids that refuse to open. I love using Therapy, and I let it rest on my shoulder to melt a little. It requires no pressure whatsoever, so it is perfect for when my hands are sore... which leads me nicely into...
2. Solid Hand Cream
Lush's Tiny Hands works on the same principle as their massage bars, but it is specifically designed for hands. It basically is a solid hand cream. It is divine. It helps when my hands are on the verge of blistering, or just generally sore. Again, because it is a solid, I have no awkward lids to force open.
3. Solid Serum
I know I talked about Full of Grace before, and again it is from Lush, but I really cannot recommend it enough.
Make-up
I love wearing make up, but it can be difficult to apply if I'm suffering a little more than usual.
1. Palettes
Palettes are your friends. Whether you find duos/trios/quads, or a palette with everything you could possibly need ever, they mean just one thing: fewer lids to open. I love Sleek for their eye shadow palettes, and as I think I have said before, Estee Lauder for blushers.
2. Brushes
I need brushes that have fairly small handles so they are lighter and easier to control. I recently discovered Eco Tools and I think I might love them. I like getting mini sets of brushes, so I can get six for £10 or something, instead of one brush for £72 (yes I have seen individual brushes selling for £72, it is not an exaggeration!). Eco Tools are cruelty free, and ethical; this is a huge bonus for me. The brushes themselves are beautiful, and really pick up the colour, but also allow every last speck of powder to go onto my skin.
3. Brush Cleaner
I'm lazy. I will not spend hours making sure my brushes are perfectly clean, and I will certainly not scrub them. I have a solution. I use an empty Dream Cream tub from Lush, and fill it about half way with warm water; any pot will do, I just use what I already have. I then squirt in three pumps worth of No7 Brush Cleaner and let my brushes soak in the liquid for a while. It does bubble up, and it smells gorgeous. I have white brushes from about ten years ago covered in black eye shadow, that are now completely white again. No scrubbing or work involved. Just tap water, three squirts, and walk away for half an hour, to let it do its thing.
Clothes
Organising my wardrobe drove me insane, as you may have read about a few blog posts ago. I'm still working on it, and I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. I have made a little progress though.
1. "Shoe" Organisers
You can get folding box things that hook onto the rail of the wardrobe, and sort of float and can store shoes. I put my trousers in one. It means that all of my tops are on hangers, and I no longer have to fight with my wardrobe. Yay!
2. Drawer Sorters
I hate having to rummage through mountains of things to get to what I want. I have sheets of card that have turned my large drawers into sections. You can buy them, and I think you can even buy drawers that have the dividers already in place, but I just use card. It works, so why change it? I also keep a few of my Lush products in a drawer to make my jumpers smell pretty. I no longer have to spend time bending down working out where things are, because they have all jumbled together; instead I can just know what is in what section.
Next week will be the big reveal of some of the Really Very Exciting Things that I have planned. I might even explain what #BloggyVloggy is. Maybe.
See you next week!
