October brought with it some highs and lows. I thoroughly embraced this blog (again) and I look forward to writing and editing these posts. I've taken up reading again, and I have missed it. At the same time, I had the flu and it hit me hard. I'm doing well now, but it was hell. I've also not been able to crochet for yet another month because my hands have been more painful. I'm still hoping to pick up my hook again.
Let's get on with things I have loved this month...
Tea
Ok, I have to start with this one. As much as I adore Lift's Instant Peach Tea (seriously, I'd happily drink nothing but this if I could), but throughout October I've been drinking Twining's praline flavoured tea and it is wonderful. The scent, the flavour, the whole experience is just perfect. I can often get three or four cups out of one bag, if I have them within a few hours.
Every day Beauty
For this it can only be Lush's Enzymion. It is a fruity moisturiser that I use all year through, but in this cold weather it is lovely on its own. It has stopped my skin from drying out from central heating, which is a first. Every year my eczema gets worse around winter because of the heating, but this and Dream Cream (also from Lush) have stopped that happening.
Special Beauty
I'm going to give two products because I use them together. Urban Decay's lipstick Afterdark is a gorgeous deep berry purple, perfect for autumn. I do find it drying, so I use Sugar Plum Fairy on top. This gives it a much more bearable feel, without taking away the colour. For a slightly more softer purple, I did use Sunkissed over Afterdark, but I much prefer the colour of Sugar Plum Fairy.
Netflix
I love murder mysteries, and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is amazing. It follows Miss Phryne Fisher, a fascinating (fictional) woman in 1920s Australia. She teams up with Detective Inspector Jack Robinson, and with the help of Dottie and Hugh they solve crimes. I've just started the third season, and I'm really enjoying it. I binged the first two seasons a few months back, and was left wanting more. I'm slowly watching the third to savour it.
Despite the flu and other problems, I enjoyed October. Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year.
What have you enjoyed this month?
