Tome Topple
First up is Tome Topple. I took part in the winter, and I read the first two books in the ASOIAF series by George RR Martin. I also reread House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski. I enjoyed reading super long books, but my health got in the way, preventing me from reading more than just the three books. I'm fully aware that this might happen again, so I'm making an ambitiously long list, because why not.
Here is my TBR for the spring Tome Topple, which is happening in April from the 7th to the 20th.
1 (and 2). The next two books in the ASOIAF series: A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows
I'll admit I did find some parts of the first two books tedious, but I really want to finish reading the series. Ordinarily, I would give up reading them; I'm using Tome Topple as motivation to finish the series, with the next round being the next two books. I think I can do it. I hope I can do it.
3. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
The Hyper RPG read for March as a part of their book club was American Gods but I just didn't have the motivation to read it. I started it, and I loved it, but I just couldn't keep going. Once again, I'm using Tome Topple as an excuse to read a long book.
4. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel by Susanna Clarke
Yes this was on my TBR for the last Tome Topple. No, I haven't read it yet. Yes, I have had it a long time.
5. Progress on Serial Reader
I have a few too many books on the Serial Reader app, so I'd like to make more of a dent in those. To see what I have going, take a look at my Goodreads shelf of just my Serial Reader books. As you can see, there's a lot. I have no plans on finishing any of them, just making a dent.
Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon
I'm going to start by saying I have no intention of reading for the full twenty four hours of the readathon. If I do, it probably means I've done something wrong. I need sleep. This is my first Dewey's readathon, and it is happening just after Tome Topple on the 29th.
Here's my TBR.
1. Some more progress on Serial Reader
Even in the unlikely event that I finish all the books I have going on Serial Reader, there are many more I want to read. I'm hoping to make some more progress on those books during this readathon.
2. Paul Doherty
I came across his works when I got my first eReader back in college in 2007. I binged on his works, but I don't remember any of what happened. Considering it was a decade ago (which makes me feel old) I think it is time to reread. I have a few of his series, so I'm probably going to decide which of the series to read on the day. Right now I'm leaning towards Ancient Rome and Amerotke but I'm not going to decide until the moment I start reading.
By my maths, I'll be able to read two or three full books, and some issues on the app. I might read more or less, but I'm not going to force it either way. If my health gets in the way, I'm going to be fine with that. I just want to make a little progress.
Where to find me
I'll be posting on Goodreads, which automatically posts to my Twitter. I'll also be posting on Litsy (EllanaRose) and doing a final wrap up here.
Let me know if you will be taking part in the readathons!
