Kinsey Millhone as a character is by no means perfect. Her biggest flaw that springs to my mind is that she is highly critical of other women, especially those who are comfortable with their weight, appearance, and lifestyles. There is also a general lack of good representation in the books, but she does judge anyone who is different from her while being very defensive of the police, saying that they are unable to do no wrong despite evidence to the contrary.
Putting that aside, Kinsey has had an influence on me, for better or worse. I echo her independence, wanting to rely on no one but myself. Since I have a disability, this isn't quite possible. I'm much more comfortable asking for help, but I do cherish the moments I can be independent, as few and far between as they may be. She also (silently) corrects people's grammar, and I admit I do the same.
I've got up to E is for Evidence at the time of writing this, with the aim of finishing F is for Fugitive as soon as possible. I am curious to know what other Kinsey-like traits I picked up.
