But in good news, we survived the hell of last year. We made it! Go us! Yay!
Last month I did have a cold (again) and towards the end of the month over the holidays I had a massive flare up. This is reflected in my favourites, since I delved into more comfort food - books and TV shows that I know and love, nothing too strenuous. Let's get started.
Books
I fell completely in love with the Grisha books, and I want to live in that world. The beauty in every moment, the magic, the representation... it is so wonderful. I genuinely do wish I could live there, even with the violence and such that happens. I'd join Inej to take down the bad guys, or want to live in the palace with Stormhund.
Netflix
Community is incredible. At its core, it is just another comedy show. It follows seven main characters, but it is filled with represtentation. I love it. I love the comedy, I love the stories and character arcs. When Pierce makes a comment that is less than politically correct, the group calls him out on it, and he slowly changes. I even love Chang. I recommend this to so many friends so often, that some of them have got to the point of saying "Yes, El, we know, you like Community!"
Twitch
I know I talked about it last month too, but I really have been enjoying Hyper RPG. I've really got into their show Shadowrun, and I am wondering which corporation to join (suggestions welcome). As I said last month as well, Honesty Hour is a great show, even if it does keep me awake until 8am.
Makeup
I am a huge fan of Lush as you probably all already know, but their solid lipsticks are even better than their liquid lipsticks. For the liquid I would recommend Passionate; even if you are not a fan of striking pinks, it makes a gorgeous highlight in the center of your lips, especially on top of a deep red. For solid, I've been going back to an old favourite, Decisive. A strong, cherry red, it is a beautiful colour that is just perfect for this time of year. That said, the solids are currently exclusive to Oxford Street, but the liquids are available in most stores and online.
Skincare
For the last year I've been using a drying mask every week or fortnight, depending on my energy levels, and it has massively helped with my cystic acne and even my eczema. This last month I've been using it even more, since the central heating has made my eczema flare up a little. Even though it is described as "drying" I do find that it helps to heal the scarring from eczema, but that might just be me. I've also been using a tea tree toner to wash it off, which helps with acne even more.
Apps
Did I talk about Litsy last month? I probably did, and I'm too lazy to check. Here it is again though. I love Litsy. Imainge if Instagram and Goodreads eloped; Litsy would be the result. Follow me at EllanaRose on there!
I think that is almost everything, and even if it isn't, I'm going to have a cup of green tea now.
Here's to 2017: may discrimination fall, and equality rise.
