Theme: crochet that looks like knitting
It has been a while since I picked up my crochet hooks and finished something for myself, so I decided to use the Deramore's contest as an excuse.
I love my Kobo Aura eReader, and the cover I bought it is solid but I wanted a little bag for it as well; I keep a few makeup items in my handbag with my eReader, so I'd rather not stain the cover with melted lipstick.
So I made this!
The yarn is super soft, and I found it in a huge bag of yarn pieces from blankets that were made several years ago. I have no idea what the name of it is, what it is made from, or any other details; this is probably one of the "joys" of not having a band on the yarn. I adore the colour too; the muted lilac is gorgeous, but it is a shame the camera doesn't quite do it justice.
I really enjoyed doing the five rounds of half treble stitches, going into the pesky back loop of the stitches to get the knitted look. I broke it up with a round of trebles just for a decorative pattern. I hadn't done that style of crochet before, and I found it pretty easy. I love the look of it, and it is definitely something I want to try again. It does nom the yarn though.
I loved making this, and the little loop is perfect for attaching it to an inside ring in my handbag so it doesn't move around too much. I so wish I had the yarn details so I could share them with you, but sadly I can't. I am happy that I found the perfect shade and the perfect amount in what was my grandmother's stash though.
See you next week!
