A finish!
Back in the summer, I dyed some Kent Romney wool in different shades of blues and greys. I spun it not long after Tour de Fleece, chain plied it, and then left it. This last week I started, progressed, and then finished a crochet scarf using the yarn. The scarf is incredibly simple, just a plain mesh-like stitch, but it is gorgeous. It's so moody, like a stormy sky.
I'm not sure what this is yet
I'm doing a deep stash dive (while also still playing with newer things) and I found an acrylic variegated yarn in burgundy and cream. It's really pretty, I'm crocheting it in linen/moss stitch, but I'm not sure what it is yet. It might be a shawl, it might be a scarf, it might be a shrug. We'll see, I guess. I'm just enjoying the process.
It. Won't. End.
The pastel stripes blanket still continues. I am approaching the end, but I still have so much yarn. I want to keep going until I'm out of this yarn, but that is going to be a while off. It is incredibly cosy though to work on, I'm completely wrapped up... which is brilliant until I need to turn the blanket to do the next row, and I have to un-burrito myself.
I spin this right round, baby, right round, on a spindle, baby...
Combining a few days of the World of Wool countdown calendar, I've picked three orange toned floofs that I'm combo-drafting to spin. I'm using my Kromski drop spindle for this, so spinning all 150g will be a slow process, but I'm so far enjoying it. I think eventually I'll crochet this into a leaf motif and make it into a scarf, but that may change.
Another new start
Going back to that stash dive, I found some of Hobbii's Horizon yarn in Thunder and Sky, so I'm crocheting a hexagon cardigan using it. I'm using Thunder for the main bulk of it, then I'll use Sky for the remainder of the sleeves and a comfy collar. It's such an easy mindless project currently, but I think the shaping for the sleeves will add a bit of complicated thinking later. I'm excited.
So I'm pretty sure that's everything I've worked on this week. I've got so many projects on the go, and there are only so many hours in a day sadly.
What did you do this week?
